Choosing a car to drive in Tokyo
First and foremost! How big is your car space? Is there any height, width restriction? If your space is inside a machine type parking bay there is a good chance you may be limited to the height and width of car you can park. Also check if your car space is not a machine type but it is under cover. Maybe there is a height issue? Sometimes the actuall garage roof is high enough but the garage door`s height is lower. Do check!
Next is the car......what make or model do I buy?
You may allready have a preferred make and model. If so great! Go for it! Call me and I will get you pricing on that particular car ASAP.
Not sure on what size car to buy?
Depending on the size of your family and then the actual size of the children your final choice will differ.
The Honda Odyssey, Toyota Ipsum, size vehicle (6 or 7 seaters) are great medium size people movers. The only thing is if the children are older than 3 years of age the you may still find these vehicles a bit too small. After loading all the luggage and possibly a friend or two room will run out very quickly.
If this sounds like you I would advise looking at the next size vehicle like a seven seatr Toyota Kluger which offers 5 normal seats and two rear smaller seats. Be aware the Kluger does also come in a 5 seater...also available in 2WD and 4WD, 2.4 ltr engine or a 3 ltr engine. The 2.4 ltr engine is more than enough but for a smoother drive I recommend the 3ltr. Actually the Kluger is not being sold as a new car any more in Japan.
It will be sold over seas though. Another thing is that the Kluger has the exact same engine as the older style 3 ltr Toyota Harrier. A very smooth drive!

If you find that you need as much space as possible and parking restrictions in terms of your parking space (or street entrance) are not a factor the you may want to take a closer look at the larger Toyota Estima, Mitsubishi Pajero, Nissan Elgrand etc which are all good examples of the larger people movers.
